Dual Language Immersion

Centralia Elementary School District will offer a new Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program beginning in the 2022-2023 school year at Centralia Elementary School (195 N. Western Ave Anaheim, CA). Dual language immersion is a rigorous educational program intended to develop student proficiency in two languages--Spanish & English—while students meet grade-level achievement standards. The program's goals include bilingualism, biliteracy, and sociocultural competence for all students enrolled in DLI through sixth grade.

For the 2022-2023 school year, opportunities to enroll are available to students entering Kindergarten and 1st Grade. Each year after next, the program will expand by one grade level (2nd Grade DLI in school year 23/24, 3rd Grade in school year 24/25, etc.) until the program is fully implemented in grades Kindergarten-6th.



For your student to be considered, parents/guardians wishing to enroll their children in DLI need to  follow these steps:


1.     Watch the DLI Information Session recorded January 24 (below) (~60mins)

2.     Submit the DLI Program Intent to Enroll form (~5mins)

3.     Speak with DLI Recruitment Staff to review any questions (~15mins)

4.     Sign & Submit the DLI Program Description & Commitment form available from DLI Recruitment Staff.

*Parents and caregivers whose children attend school outside of our district should reach out to [email protected] after submitting the Intent to Enroll form for guidance on the interdistrict transfer process.
