Schools receiving this distinction from the California business community have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. California’s Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR)

 

 Students will take the tests on the following dates: 

 

Grades 2 – 6 California Standards Tests (CSTs)

Administration Dates: 5/7/13 – 5/17/13

 

All test results will be sent home with student at the beginning of the new school year. STAR Program results provide valuable information about your child’s academic achievement.  Individual results are confidential and will be shared only with parents or guardians and your child’s teacher.

Centralia School District Offers:

Transitional Kindergarten Program (TK).  TK is a two-year program.  After the first year in TK the student returns to their home school for Kindergarten.  Currently two schools host the TK program – Danbrook and Raymond Temple. Birthdates for TK are: 10/2/08-12/2/08

Immunization Requirements

Verification of birth date, immunizations and proof of residence are required at registration. Students are asked to provide proof of physical with doctor’s signature before entering Kindergarten. (Must be signed by physician after March 2013 to be valid)

 

Immunizations required to enter school must show proof of the following:

4 doses of Polio (3 doses ok if last dose is after age four)

5 doses of DPT (4 doses ok if last dose is after age four)

2 doses of MMR

3 doses of Hepatitis B

1 dose of Varicella (Chicken Pox Vaccine) or history of disease verified by a doctor

 

Residence can be verified with a utility bill (gas, water, or electric bills are acceptable) or rental agreement.

 

California Law requires every Kindergartner to have their teeth checked by a dentist or a dental hygienist as part of entry to Kindergarten.  Kindergarten registration packets will include a form for your dentist to complete.  

 

Centralia School District Open Enrollment (2/15/13-3/15/13) allows us to enroll Interdistrict transfer students in an ongoing process.  If you have friends or family members who work in the Cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, or La Palma, who would like to enroll their children, please let them know that they may be eligible to enroll their children.  Under Education Code 48204(b), the “Allen Bill”, parents may use their employer’s address to establish residency in a school district.  We would be happy to facilitate the Interdistrict transfer process at our District Office located at 6625 La Palma Ave, Buena Park, CA  90620 714-228-3100

The Centralia School District has provided an opportunity for parents and/or guardians to acquire student accident insurance on an optional basis with premiums to be paid by parents/guardians.
