Nutrition Information

 

Meals served in the Centralia School District meet the applicable recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which recommend no more than 30% of an individuals calories from fat and less than 10% calories from saturated fat. 

 

Lunch

Everyday our lunches contain:

  • 1 serving of protein, generally 2 oz. of meat or a meat alternate
  • 8 ounces of fluid milk (Reduced Fat or Fat Free) 
  • ¾ cup of a Vegetable or Fruit plus an additional ½ cup over a week.
  • 12 servings of enriched or whole grain breads for the week.

Our lunches provide students with 1/3 of the Recommended Dietary Allowances of Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron, Calcium, and Calories. 

 

Breakfast

Everyday our breakfasts contain:

  • 8 ounces of fluid milk. (Reduced Fat or Fat Free) 
  • ½ cup of fruit, vegetable or 100% fruit juice.
  • 1 to 2 servings of a whole grain or enriched bread.  and/or  
  • 1 to 2 servings of protein, generally 1 oz. of meat or a meat alternate.

Our breakfasts provide students with 1/4 of the Recommended Dietary Allowances of Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron, Calcium, and Calories.
